I can only feel stimulation on one side

It’s not uncommon for some users to notice that they only feel stimulation on one side of their Zeus device, or that one side feels stronger than the other. In most cases, this does not mean your Zeus is faulty or not working correctly.

Zeus is designed to stimulate the muscles under the chin using gentle neuromuscular stimulation. Because everybody’s anatomy, skin sensitivity, nerve response, and positioning are slightly different, the sensation can vary from side to side.

Some users naturally feel the stimulation more strongly on one side, while others may barely notice it at all. This is normal.

How Zeus Works

Zeus contains two electrodes which work together to create an electrical circuit through the skin and into the muscles under the chin.

For stimulation to work correctly:

• Both electrodes must be in contact with the skin
• The Hydrogel Pad must be applied correctly
• The device must sit flat against the skin

If only one electrode has proper contact with the skin, stimulation may feel uneven or may not be felt correctly.


Feeling Stimulation on One Side Only

If you are only feeling stimulation on one side, please follow the steps below.

Step 1: Test the Device

  1. Apply a fresh Hydrogel Pad to Zeus as normal

  2. Place the device on the underside of your forearm

  3. Press firmly on both wings of the device

If you can feel stimulation on both sides during this test, your Zeus device is working correctly.

In this case, the issue is usually related to positioning, Hydrogel Pad application, or skin contact when worn under the chin.

When applying Zeus under the chin:

• Ensure the Hydrogel Pad is fully attached
• Press firmly on both wings of the device
• Make sure the device is sitting flat against the skin


Step 2: Check the Electrodes

If stimulation still feels one sided:

  1. Remove the Hydrogel Pad

  2. Inspect the underside of the device

  3. Check for any visible damage, residue, or discolouration on the electrodes

Residue build up or damage can affect conductivity and how the stimulation is delivered.


Step 3: Contact Support

If you notice any damage to the electrodes, or if you still only feel stimulation on one side after testing, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help.
