Removing the Hydrogel Pad

Removing the Hydrogel Pad correctly helps protect your Zeus device and ensures optimal performance for future use.

Before you remove the Hydrogel Pad

• Take care not to tear the tabs on the hydrogel pad. These tabs are designed to make removal easier.
  

How to remove the Hydrogel Pad safely

1. On Side 1 of the hydrogel pad (the side attached to the device), there is a clear protective layer between the underside of Zeus and the white adhesive.

2. This clear layer helps the pad release cleanly and protects the device from damage.

3. Just inwards from the hydrogel pad tabs on either side, you will be able to see this clear layer.

4. Gently slide your finger or fingernail under the clear layer and peel the pad away from there.

Removing the pad from this clear layer helps ensure easy removal and minimises residue on the device.

Why this is important

If the clear protective layer is not removed and the white adhesive is peeled away instead, residue may remain on the device. If a new hydrogel pad is applied on top of this layer, it can:

• Reduce adhesion

• Reduce the level of stimulation

For this reason, it is important to always locate and remove the pad using the clear protective layer.

After removal

• Dispose of the used hydrogel pad appropriately.

• If there is any remaining residue on the device, gently clean it using an alcohol wipe and allow it to dry fully before applying a new pad.
  
  

If the pad was attached incorrectly

If Side 2 (the skin side) was accidentally attached to the device, removal may be more difficult.

In this case:

• Remove the pad slowly and gently.

• Take extra care to avoid damaging the electrodes or pulling away the device backing.
