Keeping Your Zeus and Hydrogel Pad Secure

Correct preparation and positioning are key to ensuring your Zeus stays comfortably in place throughout the night.

Use and store hydrogel pads correctly

  1. Always use a new Hydrogel Pad each time you use Zeus.

  2. As soon as you remove a pad from the packet, reseal the packet immediately to keep unused pads fresh and moist, which helps maintain adhesion.

Prepare your Zeus device

  1. Remove Zeus from the charging unit before applying a hydrogel pad.

  2. Check the underside of the device for any hydrogel residue.

  3. If residue is present, gently clean the device with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap if needed.

  4. Allow the device to air dry completely before applying a new hydrogel pad. Residue build up can reduce adhesion.

Attach the hydrogel pad correctly

  1. Attach Side 1 of the hydrogel pad to the underside of the Zeus device.

  2. Attach Side 2 to your skin.

Each side is designed for maximum adhesion to its intended surface.
Do not attach the skin side (Side 2) to the Zeus device, as this may damage the electrodes.

When applying the pad, press it firmly onto the device, especially over the wings of the device. Apply the same firm pressure when positioning Zeus on your skin.

Prepare your skin

  • Ensure the skin under your chin is clean, dry, and free from lotions, creams, or oils.

  • For users with facial hair, Zeus adheres best to clean shaven skin or light stubble. Trim facial hair under the chin accordingly.

  • If shaving, we recommend shaving in the morning to allow the skin time to settle before applying Zeus in the evening.

Position Zeus correctly

Correct positioning is essential for both adhesion and comfort.

  1. Stand in front of a mirror and look straight ahead. Avoid craning your neck, as this can cause the device to lift when you lower your chin.

  2. Place your fingers under your chin, to either side of your neck.

  3. Raise your tongue to the roof of your mouth.

  4. You should feel the tongue muscles move under your fingers.

  5. This is the area the electrodes (the wings of the device) should cover.

  6. Position the round centre of Zeus just under the chin.

If Zeus feels loose or uncomfortable

Zeus is designed as a one size fits all device for all genders and anatomies. While it fits securely for most users, some people may find it harder to achieve a firm fit.

If the stimulation feels strong rather than a gentle buzzing or tingling, you may subconsciously pull at the device during sleep. To reduce this:

  • Set the stimulation to the lowest level that feels comfortable while you sleep.

  • This helps improve comfort and reduces the chance of the device being disturbed overnight.

If adhesion issues continue

In some cases, skin type can affect adhesion:

  • Very dry skin may absorb moisture from the hydrogel pad, reducing stickiness.

  • Oily skin or becoming warm overnight can increase moisture, which can also reduce adhesion.

If this happens, some users find that micropore tape or surgical tape can help keep Zeus securely in place overnight.
