Zeus is the result of 15 years of research, development, and clinical validation into Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) technology. In 2010, Howard Clarke, a renowned engineer and product innovator who was later awarded an MBE for his services to Engineering, met Professor John Moxham, a leading respiratory specialist at King’s College London. That meeting sparked a 15-year partnership between Morgan Innovation & Technology and King’s College London, driven by a shared mission: to find a non-invasive, effective solution to snoring.
Howard Clarke, named on several international patents and the mind behind pioneering medical devices like the RF lesion generator, brought decades of engineering expertise to the table. Together with Professor Moxham and their teams, they combined cutting-edge research with practical innovation to develop Zeus: a sleek, smart, UK-developed anti-snoring device that uses clinically-tested TENS technology.
An established consultant respiratory and sleep physician at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and a Professor at King’s College London, Professor Steier has spent his career researching sleep-disordered breathing and pioneering non-invasive solutions for sleep apnoea sufferers.
Professor Steier’s work in adapting TENS technology for sleep apnoea is groundbreaking—transforming a treatment once used for pain management into a precision therapy for airway control during sleep. Partnering with Morgan Innovation & Technology, Professor Steier has played a crucial role in refining Zeus, ensuring its scientific credibility and clinical effectiveness.
Dr Nicolas Huber is a non-executive director at Zeus and Chief Operations Officer at the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering, King’s College London. With a background in space science and electronic engineering, Dr Huber has led pioneering ventures across biotech, medical imaging, and startup acceleration.
His unique ability to bridge research, engineering, and commercialisation makes him instrumental to the future of Zeus Sleep. His leadership ensures that TENS technology is not only clinically robust, but also positioned to benefit those who need it most.
